2.5 Months Old

New things for Mirren lately: She loves to sit up, she LOVES to stand, until her legs get tired and then she's done but until they get tired she has the happiest expressions on her face. :)  She is big. Big for my babies at this age. She's in 3-6 month clothes. Size 1 diapers are getting close to being too small for her. I estimate she's probably about 12 pounds.  She smiles when she wants to generally, not easily influenced by outside sources.
Today I let the girls work together at changing her diaper and changing her clothes, with help from me when needed. Mirren was in HEAVEN with her big sisters touching her and being so close to her. She is such a laid back baby. You give her food, sleep, clean diapers, and she's pretty perfectly content. She is FINALLY willingly taking the binky at nap time. And only at nap time. So different from my other two girls. She LOVES bathtime just like Aftyn did at her age. I love to watch how spastic and excited she gets in water. She does this one leg kick thing, kind of looks like a karate move, in the water along with just splashing with one of her arms. I'll have to get it on video because it is pretty dang hilarious.
We love her so much. I love how both of my girls are always making sure that Mirren is coming with us whenever we go out. :D  They really and truly care for and love her so so much. Aftyn is so good to check on Mirren for me when I ask whether it's in the car or just if I need her to check and see if she's still sleeping or finally asleep. It's interesting how having a 3rd child helps the other 2 kids come together so much more. At least in our family.

9 Pillows Later

Now that we have 2 couches and a chair (!) rather than the recliner and couch we had in Massachusetts, we needed some pillows to pull all of our couches together. After 6 weeks, I finally found the time to finish these suckers. And in fact, they're still not finished. But I've done the majority of the work, so the rest should be easy. Right?

This is the one pillow I did not create. This beautiful teal flower pillow was made my, who else, Alyson. That girl is multi-talented. She also re-upholstered this chair. By herself.

Alyson also re-upholstered this couch! I did the seat cushions, but they still need a little tweaking. Right now, that's on the back burner. Too many other projects before that one.

Videos of all the kids

Video of Bronwyn

Video of Aftyn

Video of Mirren

My girls are all getting so big so fast. I can't believe Mirren is almost 10 weeks old! Where did the last 10 weeks go???  Bronwyn has so much to say, what happened to my little little girl? And Aftyn is becoming such a grown up little girl. Where did my sweet 2 year old go with all the funny quirks? Guess that's why we have videos to help us remember, hmm?

A Little Update

Bronwyn: "Hey, wait a sec-und!" "That's what I'm talkin' about!"  "I try and try and try!"  All said in a high pitched tone, with w's for r's. A-dorable. And the inflection. Hi-larious. She cracks me up.

Aftyn: I love how she stands up to pushy Bronwyn, but still can't help but help Bronwyn with whatever her latest crazy scheme is. Aftyn is such a caring big sister. She tells me all the time that she loves me, which gets Bronwyn saying it too. I love to hear that from both my girls. I can't believe how much Aftyn is growing up over the last few months! Aftyn's latest enjoyment is playing with Bronwyn. I generally love how they make a team together, playing whatever game they decide will be fun.

Mirren: Yesterday after her napping through running errands with me and then for a while after we got home, she finally started waking up. I can't help it. When she has slept for a few hours at a time, I miss holding her. So I quickly unbuckled my little sweetheart and held her while she
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d her little body out, one hand under her head and the other under her bum. Just watching her and her sweet little face. Until I felt something wet and pasty on my hand. I quickly adjusted my hold on her only to discover she TOTALLY got me with her "I poop every 4 days" poop. And when you eat a lot and poop only every 4 days, my friends, we're not talking about a little. It was everywhere once we discovered it. All over her outfit. On her little fleece bodysuit. Reed just kept chucking wipes at me, helpful ;) , while Aftyn ran for a plastic bag to put all those poopy wipes in. We all laughed when we finished. And Mirren sure was happy through it all! I love how much Aftyn and Bronwyn love Mirren. And Mirren loves when they show any attention to her.

2 Months

Mom, this is your cute outfit! She looked so cute in it, hmm?
Yup. Already 2 months tomorrow. Can you believe it? She is so big. I learned something new about her tonight. She loves books! I have a couple black and white books meant specifically for little babies and after a particularly cranky-for-no-good-reason day for her  I broke them out tonight in the hopes she might be interested. She couldn't keep her eyes off of them!  I had tried several times with my other girls at this age with no success whatsoever.
Just goes to show you how each child is different. I even tried showing them to her when she was (again) super cranky and within 30 seconds she calmed down again and was busy looking at the pictures. I have a magic book! I'll have to get a picture of her when she's looking at it again.
Her two month stats were 22.75 inches long, 11 lbs 2oz, 15.5 inch? head. For her head and her length she is in or around the 90th percentile and for her weight she was around the 50th. She's my heaviest baby for this age and also my longest at this age.

Also, I'm not thinking this is a good look for Mirren. I am totally intrigued to see what color hair is growing under those short dark locks of hers. I can see a little glimmer of redness, but just a glimmer.

And on a different note, Mirren has an umbilical granuloma. Anyone ever had these with their kids? She has her 2 month checkup tomorrow so I'll ask her doctor but I'm curious what she's going to have to do to make it go away. It's not a big deal, just an annoyance. I should take a picture before we go to the doctor, just so I can remember the important parts of Mirrens first few months.

It's COLD!!

Truly a sweater and jeans kind of day around here today. Kamber- the jeans still fit! You should see the back, oh her little buns look so cute with pockets on them!! :D

Mirren and I finally made our debut at our new ward yesterday. Dalana- the tights fit perfectly! And were oh-so-cute!

Click on this picture to expand. I'm not sure who's supposed to be made happy, her or me. Either way, I'm not sure it's working for either of us. LOL Look at that sad lip!

My baby got so big she outgrew her bassinet. :/ I moved her into her crib last night and she had the gall to love it! I think we may have made it into the land of 8 hours of sleep at night. Woot!

Pictures Lately

Christmas morning, presents and Christmas jammies. Aftyn's still require some fitting. ;)

Reed devouring a book we received

Oh this girl is cute! She doesn't smile a lot, so to have gotten a smile out of her while finally getting pictures of her in her blessing outift is worth a million bucks to me! Notice her foot poking out of the end of the dress. Yes, she is so long that had we waited until this week to bless her, like we did with the other girls at 7-ish weeks, the length wouldn't have been what I wanted.

A close up. You can't tell much about the details of the dress but since I made it I think it's gorgeous! :D

We've had some awesomely fun sicknesses, mostly colds, and we are glad to currently be on the mend from them all. Makes me think twice about going to church on Sunday. LOL Bronwyn was making good use of Daddy's pillow while she had some kind of flu. Poor thing had it for 2 good days.
