A Little Update

Bronwyn: "Hey, wait a sec-und!" "That's what I'm talkin' about!"  "I try and try and try!"  All said in a high pitched tone, with w's for r's. A-dorable. And the inflection. Hi-larious. She cracks me up.

Aftyn: I love how she stands up to pushy Bronwyn, but still can't help but help Bronwyn with whatever her latest crazy scheme is. Aftyn is such a caring big sister. She tells me all the time that she loves me, which gets Bronwyn saying it too. I love to hear that from both my girls. I can't believe how much Aftyn is growing up over the last few months! Aftyn's latest enjoyment is playing with Bronwyn. I generally love how they make a team together, playing whatever game they decide will be fun.

Mirren: Yesterday after her napping through running errands with me and then for a while after we got home, she finally started waking up. I can't help it. When she has slept for a few hours at a time, I miss holding her. So I quickly unbuckled my little sweetheart and held her while she
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d her little body out, one hand under her head and the other under her bum. Just watching her and her sweet little face. Until I felt something wet and pasty on my hand. I quickly adjusted my hold on her only to discover she TOTALLY got me with her "I poop every 4 days" poop. And when you eat a lot and poop only every 4 days, my friends, we're not talking about a little. It was everywhere once we discovered it. All over her outfit. On her little fleece bodysuit. Reed just kept chucking wipes at me, helpful ;) , while Aftyn ran for a plastic bag to put all those poopy wipes in. We all laughed when we finished. And Mirren sure was happy through it all! I love how much Aftyn and Bronwyn love Mirren. And Mirren loves when they show any attention to her.

2 Months

Mom, this is your cute outfit! She looked so cute in it, hmm?
Yup. Already 2 months tomorrow. Can you believe it? She is so big. I learned something new about her tonight. She loves books! I have a couple black and white books meant specifically for little babies and after a particularly cranky-for-no-good-reason day for her  I broke them out tonight in the hopes she might be interested. She couldn't keep her eyes off of them!  I had tried several times with my other girls at this age with no success whatsoever.
Just goes to show you how each child is different. I even tried showing them to her when she was (again) super cranky and within 30 seconds she calmed down again and was busy looking at the pictures. I have a magic book! I'll have to get a picture of her when she's looking at it again.
Her two month stats were 22.75 inches long, 11 lbs 2oz, 15.5 inch? head. For her head and her length she is in or around the 90th percentile and for her weight she was around the 50th. She's my heaviest baby for this age and also my longest at this age.

Also, I'm not thinking this is a good look for Mirren. I am totally intrigued to see what color hair is growing under those short dark locks of hers. I can see a little glimmer of redness, but just a glimmer.

And on a different note, Mirren has an umbilical granuloma. Anyone ever had these with their kids? She has her 2 month checkup tomorrow so I'll ask her doctor but I'm curious what she's going to have to do to make it go away. It's not a big deal, just an annoyance. I should take a picture before we go to the doctor, just so I can remember the important parts of Mirrens first few months.

It's COLD!!

Truly a sweater and jeans kind of day around here today. Kamber- the jeans still fit! You should see the back, oh her little buns look so cute with pockets on them!! :D

Mirren and I finally made our debut at our new ward yesterday. Dalana- the tights fit perfectly! And were oh-so-cute!

Click on this picture to expand. I'm not sure who's supposed to be made happy, her or me. Either way, I'm not sure it's working for either of us. LOL Look at that sad lip!

My baby got so big she outgrew her bassinet. :/ I moved her into her crib last night and she had the gall to love it! I think we may have made it into the land of 8 hours of sleep at night. Woot!

Pictures Lately

Christmas morning, presents and Christmas jammies. Aftyn's still require some fitting. ;)

Reed devouring a book we received

Oh this girl is cute! She doesn't smile a lot, so to have gotten a smile out of her while finally getting pictures of her in her blessing outift is worth a million bucks to me! Notice her foot poking out of the end of the dress. Yes, she is so long that had we waited until this week to bless her, like we did with the other girls at 7-ish weeks, the length wouldn't have been what I wanted.

A close up. You can't tell much about the details of the dress but since I made it I think it's gorgeous! :D

We've had some awesomely fun sicknesses, mostly colds, and we are glad to currently be on the mend from them all. Makes me think twice about going to church on Sunday. LOL Bronwyn was making good use of Daddy's pillow while she had some kind of flu. Poor thing had it for 2 good days.

Our Girls

We have lived here for exactly 2 weeks today! Aftyn is starting to acclimate and yearns for friends already. She excitedly told me last Sunday that there are 2 girls in her church class that are twins! :)

Bronwyn ended up pretty darn sick from her church class last week and is sadly coughing a bit today so I kept her home to 1)not share what she has                               AND
2)keep her from getting some new sickness for Christmas.
She is definitely getting a bit big for her britches, having very determined ideas of what she wants to happen and trying out her freedom to choose her actions with all of us, mostly myself (Alysa) and Aftyn. It can be funny but also very frustrating. We just are trying to love her through it, which thankfully is pretty easy to do since she can be so caring and sweet.

Mirren is growing! On Thursday, I think she must have realized that she could finally really see things because she spent about 5 hours awake just looking all around her and at people's faces. Not at all normal for this girl who wakes up to eat, stays awake maybe 30 minutes after eating and then wants to go back to sleep until it's time to eat again. It is so sweet now when I really see her focusing on our faces, especially Reed's and the girls. She gets her fill of my face all day long with all that I currently do for her. It would seem she knows my voice quite well because sometimes if she's hungry and she hears me, wailing ensues until I pick her up and then she'll simmer down.

That's our kid update. We sure love our girls. Can't imagine life without them.
Raking leaves at G&G Whiting's house. I love raking leaves and wanted to do this fun activity with my girls. :)

Better late than never. Aftyn was a cat for halloween. It's hard to see her ears on the top of her head, but they are there. Her favorite part had to be the makeup she wore on her face. She was delighted that she REALLY looked like a cat!

Jumping and playing in the leaves is a necessary part of raking. They loved doing it. Remember when the weather was so warm we could play outside in flip flops and no jackets? Yeah, me neither.  And I was probably too hot then anyway, what with being pregnant. . . . . . . .

Bronwyn the pirate. She was so cute! I decided she would have the most fun, since she didn't really care what she dressed up as, saying "AAARRGH" all night long. I'd say for the most part she loved her costume for Halloween.

This was taken at my sister Alyson's house the day before I trekked up to Idaho Falls after they had a big snow storm.

Taken last night. She was hungry and tired. Shocker. She sure is cute and still adores this pink blanket I pieced together thanks to my sisters Megan, Jenn and Alyson. They all played a vital part of this blanket, even if they don't know it. :)

Bronwyn being Bronwyn

This girl makes me laugh. She is really a thinker. And she thinks she's a dog, or a cat, or sometimes a horse.
What a sweetheart.

I think she is going to be tall like Aftyn but quiet and sensitive. She loves to be touched and to touch people already.

Sledding in "The Bowl"

Bronwyn's sledding partner

She took great care of Bronwyn and spoiled the pants off her by carrying her up the big hill many times over, not an easy feat

All bundled up and not going sledding. She slept in my sisters front room in her carseat happily while most of the rest of us froze sledding, and some stayed home to play games

Adventurous cousin - he was "snowboarding" and doing 360's on sleds the whole time. Nothing like the adventurous sort to get the rest of us trying things we might normally not. ;)

Sledding in action!

You're not having fun until someone's crying because they can't feel their fingers, lol

And then they quickly ham it up for the camera before being rushed home to warm up those freezing fingers

Aftyn had such a blast sledding! We were surprised by her fearlessness!

No way was Reed missing out on our fun!

We wouldn't have had such a fun day without everyone who stayed and played, but especially not without being invited by my sister and her family. They spoil us! We love that we live only a few minutes away from them and that we have gotten to spend lots of time with them already. Thanks guys!

This Just In . . . . .

Mirren finally smiled at ME this morning. As opposed to smiling in her sleep, smiling while looking at something to the side of me, or smiling at the light source in the room. And you better believe I counted how many times I got her to smile. 6 times!!! I am feeling very loved. :)
Poor Bronwyn is sick and has been since yesterday morning at 6 am when she puked. Poor thing. I've never seen her so sick for so long. Hopefully today will be the day she starts to feel better.
Aftyn is hanging in there through Bronwyn being sick. Today she wants to make a "recipe" to eat. Pretzels and chocolate chips. I told her she would have to wait until her morning snack. I should probably make her eat an apple first. ;)
