In My Dreams . .

I've noticed on more than one occasion, that in that state of mind where you're half asleep and half awake, trying to go to sleep, I have been coming up with some pretty good blog posts! Problem is, when I wake up, like right now, I can't think of what the heck they were and why they were good. Oh well.

Reed came home yesterday! I'm so excited to have him back ~ now our little stinker girl, or Aftyn, can come. Reed is looking like only a portion of himself now-a-days, thanks to some fun stuff he's been doing at night in my brothers garage with 5 other guys. You'll have to ask Reed about it. I'm pretty proud of him. But you should hear HIM talk about the changes he's seeing. He's pretty dang proud of himself!

In other news, thanks to all the early bird birthday wishes! That makes me feel pretty special that so many people already remembered my birthday that's coming up! Reed has had a birthday present for me since Christmas and has tried on numerous occasions to tell me what it is. I've held off ~ who wants to ruin the surprise?

Mothers Day is next weekend - don't forget that fabulous mother figure in your life!!

Other Thoughts

I believe I might actually pack a hospital bag tonight. Seems like a good idea, somehow. Not that I think it'll happen tonight, just that if that part is done, then at least its done and doesn't have to be worried about or done later.

Waz up?!

I'm glad you asked. Reed's out of town this week, which means I'm home alone, swollen ankles and all, trying to find things to do to keep myself from psyching myself out that I'm going to go into labor in the next 4 days and possibly have to do the whole labor thing alone. (Currently, Reed is only a 3 hour drive away. I just like messing with my psyche, I think.)

Thankfully, I have lots of projects, and my sister keeps helping me find more to do. I just finished the ruffle for my crib tonight, and tomorrow we go shopping for baby blessing dress cloth. I have been informed the dress may take 3 days to do. That's good. I could use a little distraction, and something to make the time pass quickly.

I only need about 9 more 3 day projects, and then I'll have an 18 yr project on my hands! :) (In other words, about 27 more days, and I might have a baby!)

4 weeks To Go!

Well, I am none the worse for wear after our overnighter up near Cascade. It was actually kinda nice to have a mini vacation away from home - just what Reed and I both needed.

Today also happens to be my sister Laura's birthday and my niece Aubrey's birthday too! Happy birthday to 2 fabulously cute girls!!

In even better news, my birthday is in 1 1/2 weeks, and what a strange coincidence that my sister Alyson and I are going to both be pregnant on our birthday this year. Kinda odd, huh? Wonder how often that happens with twins?

Fun Stuff !!

I've been pretty busy this week, luckily I've had a surprising amount of energy and it's been mighty helpful! Monday, I started making my own diaper bag with a pattern I got from my talented sewing sis Alyson, (also the talented bow making, baby quilt making, photo taking, and she's a mom of 2, pregnant with their 3rd. How does she find the time?) Anyway, got most of the bag done Monday - so excited because it was coming out really well! Anyway, Tuesday after picking Reed up from work and dropping him at home with our one shared car, I set out for Alyson's house for some additional instructions so I could finish my diaper bag. Wouldn't you know it, our car died right before I was about to pull out of our neighborhood. So, I called Alyson, who graciously offered the use of her husband to help find out what was wrong with our car, and why it wouldn't start. In the meantime, Reed walked over and we walked back home together, without our car. Long story short, Trevor, Alyson's husband, helped haul our car back home and he and Reed had it all fixed back up by 3 am. Wow! Trevor was a HUGE blessing to us, since we both needed to go to work the next day and taking our car to a mechanic would have cost a lot and taken more than just a few hours of one night, I can guarantee you that.

Anyway, while the boys were fixing up the car, I finished cutting out all the fabric for the crib skirt I am also making. I got most of that done that night, along with planting all the flowers I had painstakingly grown from seed into our flower beds in the front of our house. (I really hope they survive all this weird weather we're having.)
And last night, I finished my diaper bag! Boy I wish my camera could download a picture of it for you all to see. It's so cute! Even Alyson said so when I showed it to her today!! Someday, I'll include a picture on here. I promise.
So what do I have to show for myself tonight? I took a nap. I really needed it, believe me.
And tomorrow, my ward is hosting a relief society retreat up at somebody's cabin and Reed is coming to be one of our Priesthood Holders, so if I go into labor from all that driving (it's 1 hr 45 min. away) well at least Reed will be at the delivery! :) By the way, do you think I'm crazy for going? I'm pretty much 4 weeks from my due date.

Purely Random

So, I had some pictures developed a few weeks ago, purely with the intent to post them on my blog. Now, I realize, I should have developed them sooner because at this point, they're not as interesting as they might have been. My next thought was that if I bunched them together into one post, maybe they would become a little more exciting? We shall see.

First, we have our mid-winter bright idea. No ice cubes in the house, but lots of fruit and quite a lot of available snow right outside our front door! So, we made snow fruit shakes. Yum! (Of course we made sure no one had walked in our snow prior to our use of it, and no, it wasn't yellow. Gross!)

Next, we have one of my favorite Christmas presents I received this year. I think it may be hard to see, but it's an angel, and on her skirt it says "Love". I love this present, and am grateful to the person who gave it to me who taught me more about love than anyone else I know,(okay, obviously besides Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.)

Last, but definitely not least, we have this cute little bear, wearing the bow I made for our baby to wear on her blessing day. What do you think? I hope the bear isn't stretching out the headband part . . . .
