Our Latest Trip

Yes, that's right. Her shirt says "Did ya moose me?".

Proof that not only did we go away, we bought Aftyn our only souvenir! (The other one we received is also for her, and was a gift from Reed's VERY sweet Aunt.) (This picture is further proof of Aftyn's latest talent, spit bubbles!)

Last weekend we decided it was time for our one and only camping trip of the whole summer, and it was actually in the fall! Here's where we went:

We had so much fun. It was great to just relax, enjoy nature, do some wading in some very cold water, cook some food over fire, and did I mention just relax as a family?

Thanks bunches to Reed's aunt who shall remain nameless lest you try to go and visit her too and enjoy the mounds and mounds of helpfulness she provides.

So Many Videos to Choose From

Sadly, most of them are too big and I'm too lazy to find a different way to upload them. So, here you go. This video is about a month old, but still pretty cute!

A Little Bit of This and That

Aftyn's New Flower Bow . . . I love this one!

Doesn't she look cute with a little fountain ponytail?

What Aftyn looks like after a rough day . . . of sleeping, eating, playing and pooping

The Tables Have Been Turned !

Aftyn and I made it back last night, with a little time for Reed to get some snuggles with Aftyn before she went to bed.

This morning, Reed insisted on hugging me as well. I didn't mind.

And then away he went for the next few days, off to do important scale things.

Hopefully he'll get to come home a few times in the week and sleep in his own bed.

I'm sure he would appreciate that. I know we would!

It's Time for A Farewell . .

Aftyn and I are going out of town, to my oldest nephews missionary farewell.
It's our very first alone trip, without Reed.

I'm not all that worried about it. I'll have lots of family help,

but still pray for us.

Reed could use the extra prayers.

I think he'll be lonely.

Mommy for Hire

Today I gave my 6 weeks notice at work. Why 6 weeks, isn't that a TAD bit longer than normal? Well, I only have 2 co-workers. Only 1 of them can run as many machines and as many stations as me, so I will definitely need to be replaced by 1 or possibly 2 people. On that note, I have decided to find work closer to home. Or even at home, if possible. Here are my qualifications - feel free to pass them on to potential employers! :)

Great at changing diapers, poopy or wet
Accustomed to waking at all hours
Can meet supply and demand of milk needs for consumer
good at swaddling
can coordinate outfits and bows
Excel at doing things one-handed i.e. opening doors, bringing in groceries, doing laundry, making lunch, typing on the keyboard
Pretty good at soothing even the fussiest customer!

*I really am looking for a job closer to home . . . .keep me in mind if you know of anything that might work. Thanks!*

Aftyn at 3 Months

Things Aftyn Likes To Do: Take Baths
EAT
Stand up
Chew on her Hands (until mommy catches her and gives her the binki)
Blow spit bubbles
Sleep through the night :) !!

Some Funny Stories about Aftyn and Daddy this past week: Daddy was giving Aftyn a bath this week, when she tooted. Reed thought this was funny and told Aftyn it was a good toot. When suddenly, I'm sure you can guess, she started pooping. Yuck. So, Reed stood her up in the bathtub, let the water out and supported her with one arm while cleaning up and refilling the bathtub. While standing up, she decided she wasn't done pooping, so she finished up which meant Reed had to clean the tub again and put clean water in again. Silly Aftyn

Reed laid Aftyn on the couch in our tv room for a minute, and when he came back she had somehow managed to put her arm through one strap of my bra that also happened to be on the couch. Reed started laughing, and told Aftyn that that wasn't for her because she's just a little girl, and those are for big girls. I was laughing so hard when Reed told me about this experience over the phone. :p I think that is about it.

Reed did a great job these last 2 weeks - he was such a big help to me at night. He is a great and loving dad for Aftyn.
I think Aftyn may already be teething? She started slobbering SO much the past 2 weeks, that's when we started noticing her blowing spit bubbles and sometimes she's fussy but doesn't act gassy or really tired. Is this going to be going on for months until she actually gets her teeth? How bad will it get, anybody have any words of advice?
