All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth . . . . .

So, I had a little accident today at work. I'm a little worried about the aftermath of my accident.

I was working on the machine you see here, trying to get a mat done just right, and was having a few issues with the machine. Long story short, the blue "head" of the machine hit me in my two front teeth! After a visit to the dentist, he said both teeth have little cracks in them and that it would be safer to have crowns put on them!
I'm so worried - I have had these 2 teeth in the front of my face for over 20 years.
What if I don't like my new teeth? Has anyone had a similar experience?

After this incident, I just decided to head straight home and not leave my house because I'm feeling like this day could possibly get worse if I let it. I need some help feeling better.

Alysa, do you have job insurance that will pay for the accident? Your company should cover that.

You could talk to my dad - when we were at Jon's house a couple summers ago there was an accident, and, well, Jon pretty much hit my dad with something and it chipped his tooth off. So he has a cap on his tooth. It doesn't look any different at all. I have actually heard of many accidents with Jon.....Hmmm....

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry!!!! I remeber kevin's front tooth getting whacked off with the volleyball pole- he looks great now. I was amazed how natural his looked. My Dad also had his two front teeth done. They even tint it to match your natural teeth. You will still be very beautiful!!!jon has a crack in his eye tooth that needs to get fixed too. We love you Alysa!

But as for you Kierstin- i think it was sublimal payback for when your Dad broke Jon's hand in basketball the year before...J/K. ;)

Thanks to everybody for your words of encouragement. Yes, my teeth work will be covered by workers comp, so that's good. And it actually takes a load off my mind that maybe my new front teeth will be molded to look like my old front teeth - that would make me happy. :) I'll be going to the dentist not this Monday, but the next, so I guess I'll find out then. Thanks everybody for helping me feel better!

My front teeth aren't real but then I don't really like them. Sorry I'm no help. Plus what's the deal with them taking several of my front teeth, which were perfectly healthy, and drilling them down to nothing in order to have something to hook the fake teeth onto? I don't like that whole concept. Let's take the healthy teeth and ruin them too. Great idea.
