I know you don't want to hear this, but I actually like it. I don't think it looks that much different from the pictures. I was expecting it to look HORRIBLE from what you described, and it looks cute. Maybe the top layers and bangs are a little short, but that is all I can think that could be wrong.
So in conclusion, I like it. Don't try to fix it. Embrace it!
Well, I kinda agree with Alyson! It looks pretty much like the pictures! Maybe you should wash your hair and style it yourself from scratch . . . then you'll get an idea what you're really working with, and maybe find a way to do it that you like! (I don't think it looks horrible. If you smiled in the picture it would look really cute!)
The problem with pictures is that we don't see the time that goes into the hairdo. They probably have product in their hair and then have a flat iron to straighten it. And someone doing their make-up and a photographer fixing every flaw. etc. etc. etc. I never have good luck when I take a picture in. I've given up and just don't care about my hair anymore. I've been starting to try to care again though. Anyways, I agree with the above comments. It isn't horrible, it's just not what you expected so in your mind it might be horrible. Maybe try buying a leave-in conditioner/straightener then blow drying it. The top layers are a little short though so it might be a hard hair cut to wash and wear. I LOVE the way bangs look but they drive me crazy and get in my face all day. I'm sure you can figure something out. A smile in the picture would DEFINITELY help! Just remember you're awesome and everyone will still like you no matter what your hair looks like!
Thanks Elizabeth and Laura and Alyson - it probably doesn't look as bad as I think, but it certainly wasn't what I was expecting and now I'm not sure how to do it. I just need to wash it and start experimenting, I just haven't gotten there yet. :\
Not too bad. You could just jazz it up with some highlights and makeup? Either way, you'll survive :)
I could post pictures of how I tried to color my hair a nice comfortable auburn and ended up with magenta. It's wild. I think I'll try and fix it today. I have a hard time caring too much about my hair though. It's never permanent.
As a girl who has cried many a time over a haircut i can tell you that 1- hair grows back (i promise!) and 2- change is always awful even if we think we will like it, give it a few days and i know it wont seem bad. I agree with the above comments- your hair looks a lot like the top picture without a professional stylist and and photo touch up. i bed some styling product like a glossy wax from garnier nurtiesse and a flat iron will make it a lot more like you want. Remember when i let esther scissorhands "trim" my hair during enrichment night and she took of 8 inches?! It gre back but i still have that picture on the back of american express ;) and next week i have an appointment to get bangs too. hang in there. you are beautiful!! and i think once you play with your hair for a few days youll love it too. Sometimes we we learn to love the most what we thought we never wanted. AJ
