Ankles Turned Cankles

I've had this strange phenomenon occur at least 3 times this pregnancy.
One ankle swells, the other one doesn't.
I'm mildly concerned it could be something bad and so I called my midwife today,
but I haven't heard back yet.
In the meantime, it's kind of amusing to be able to enjoy the lovely ankle on one leg,
and the elephantitis going on in the other.
Anyone ever enjoy this strange phenomenon while pregnant?
By the way, can you tell which ankle is swollen?
**In further updates, due to the noticable size difference in my baby bump this time as compared with Aftyn's, I'm going to try to beg my midwife to have mercy on me and have me deliver at some set point before 40 weeks.
Big babies run in my family and I'm afraid! **

I can for sure tell which one is the swollen ankle! That's really strange. I've got nothing for you. Have you tried googling it?

I love your pregnancy photos, they're soo cute! You look really pretty in them, Alysa! I love how you can see Aftyn's little belly sticking out too in the first one.

Yikes! no fun. I got swollen ankles with this last pregnancy, for the last couple of weeks. I didn't really even notice, until the doctor pointed it out to me. And yes, one was more swollen than the other. Weird, huh? Not sure why that happens, but if you find out, I'll be curious to know. :)

Elevate your feet!

Not trying to scare you but is there any pain associated with it? Has it been the same ankle each time? Kimi's knee got really swollen before they found her blood clot when she was pregnant with Campbell. It may also be the way you sit/stand. Do you cross your legs a certain way each time or stand with more weight on one side? Try keeping them elevated but I would definitely talk to your midwife.

Watch your sodium intake and drink lots of water. I had the same problem. My ankles and feet got so swollen I couldn't even fit my feet into flip flops. Ah, the joys if being pregnant, all worth it!
