Memory Foam - It's Amazing

I have been wanting to write this post for a long time, but decided to wait it out until later in my pregnancy to tell you all how fabulous this stuff is.

But I just couldn't wait anymore.

Memory foam has changed the way I sleep.

Reed and I purchased a new, somewhat firmer than I was used to, mattress before we got married. I figured, let's save ourselves the money on the nice pillowtop mattress and just buy a new one in like 5 years. Right.

After struggling through Aftyn's pregnancy basically sleeping on the couch the last 2 months with as many pillows as possible propped underneath me, I knew something had to change if I wanted to sleep in my own bed the entire time with this pregnancy. Lucky for me, at only a few weeks pregnant, my sister Alyson called and told me she had found an INCREDIBLE deal at a store on memory foam. And that was the day that changed my life.

A few days later, our memory foam came into our possession. We positioned it on our bed, (it's either 3 or 4 inch memory foam) and slept on it that night.

Honestly, it took our bodies a couple of days to adjust to this pillowy goodness that yielded to our bodies every move. I recall waking up at least once in the first few days, dreaming I was sleeping on a cloud that was just cupping my body in its softness.

That was about 3 1/2 months ago. Here I sit at basically 5 months pregnant, and yes I know I haven't really started to feel the fabulous uncomfortability that is pregnancy, but that's just it.
I haven't experienced any soreness in my back or hips. To me, that's incredible. The true test is waiting in the next few months. I'll write an update to let you all know how it goes, but I have faith that I am going to be experiencing pretty pain free sleep from here to the end. At least pain associated with my mattress. Fingers crossed.
